Dining in Hell

The party is faced with navigating their way out of the first layer of Hell when they are assaulted by fleeing Devils who are being pursued by a cadre of demons. After rescuing the fleeing devils, the devils offer to guide the party to The Brass Citadel, where Draglusian the pit fiend has taken over (apparently having come to some sort of accord with it’s previous owner Bel). The Brass Citadel itself is under siege by legions of demons and the situation was going poorly until the party arrived and broke a hole in their ranks. This has given Draglusian a significant advantage and may allow him to push the demonic hoard back for a time.

In exchange for his assistance in exiting the Hells, Draglusian requested that the party retrieve a soul that was being transported through the Hells towards Tiamat’s Stronghold. The party agreed to retrieve the soul, but once they arrived, they discovered that the soul was none other than the imprisoned soul of an Exalted dragon by the name of Krynshar- one of the great Draconic heroes of the last war. The party chose not to go through with their deal and instead wandered the Hells until they discovered an entrance on their own. This took longer, but they have successfully escaped the hells.

Easy Choices

The party, fresh to their newfound leadership duties, have found even the simplest decisions to be somewhat daunting when others’ lives may pay the price for their choices but every so often a choice comes around with little guilt attached to it.

Two prominent villains (Draglusian the Pit Fiend and Cornelius Burke, President of Sanctuary) have approached the party with requests for them to personally handle some matters of importance to them. Draglusian offered no payment, but indicated that success might be in the groups’ best interests where Cornelius offered to reward them and their organization handsomely.

For Draglusian, a rival Duke of Hell has been providing power to New Valense and its people. He suggested that it might be in the groups best interest to cut that power source off. For Cornelius, a cultist group has begun growing within his nation of Sanctuary, and he feared their influence should they grow much more.

The party, being given the choice between aiding two evils, chose the evil which seemed least likely to be duplicitous given that no reward was offered with the mission to bait them with. Additionally, the opportunity to take down a Duke of Hell was difficult to pass up.

After defeating the Duke near the river styx, it was discovered that the party’s long time traveling companion Shala (the constant aid and friend to Silas) was quite evil and most likely an outsider. Having accidentally discovered this while deep within the second circle of Hell, the party has decided to postpone further investigation until they have negotiated their way out of their current predicament.

Book 2- "Ascension"

Book 2 begins 10 years after the last major battle of The Banished War, where the Kythons attempted to swarm over and consume the world.

Our heroes have built a fledgling empire, each with their own base as well as a primary house of operations which has assumed the legacy of the legendary School.

Over the years the drow have carved out their own daylight empire, Cornelius Burke has founded the nation of Sanctuary, Cylandria has split into Aquarius and New Cylandria, Ajax has dubbed his nation Western Jasconis and is currently at war with the newly christened New Valense, which dedicates itself to the worship of the new deities. Only Armengar of the original nations remains, and it is a husk of its former self.
